Below are headlines in the Newspaper about Dwayne Wade. The first headline is a response to Wade's signing with the Chicago Bulls and leaving the Miami Heat in the Miami Herald. The second article is the same story reported by the Chicago Tribune.
What do you notice in both reports? Carefully read the headlines and analyze the use of Photos as well.
The way that we see things based on our beliefs and experiences is called our perspective or point of view. You could probably guess that in the above photos Chicago was very excited about Dwayne coming "home" to Chicago and Miami fans had a much different feeling about the same exact story. This happens every single day in our lives. Victories for us are sad days for friends, or something you are really excited about might not even be on a friend's radar. If it is true today, then humans who came before us probably had similar experiences. As a result, historical events and historical sources also have their own perspectives and point of view, even when they are not trying to persuade you about something one way or the other.
